Cadillac Motorcar Division or Cadillac is an American car manufacturer based in Detroit. A division of General Motors, Cadillac is known for its large displacement vehicles, including one of its best known models, the Cadillac Escalade.
The company was the first American automobile to win the prestigious Dewar Trophy from the Royal Automobile Club of Great Britain by demonstrating the interchangeability of its parts in a particularly severe test in 1908. Cadillac also won this trophy in 1912 for having an electric starter and electric headlights on a production automobile.Cadillac also produced small city cars like the Cadillac Seville, considered "Cadillac's first small car".
