Alpine

Alpine is an automobile manufacturer founded in Dieppe, Normandy, in 1955 by Jean Rédélé, the youngest Renault dealer in France.

Rédélé, who was a driver in the Dieppe-Rouen Rally with a Renault 4CV, created the Alpine company in reference to his success on Alpine roads. At the time owned by the Renault Group, Alpine made a remarkable breakthrough in the sports car sector before ceasing production in 1995 with the A610 as its last model, but in November 2012, Renault's CEO announced the brand's rebirth.
