This pair of 5 mm thick thermal spacers made of woven Bakelite (phenolic laminate) is perfectly flat and comes with four 0.5 mm thick paper gaskets. (Thicker gaskets available upon request.)

They are specific to Volkswagen Type 3 engines with dual SOLEX 32 34 PDSIT carburetors, which powered the VW Type 3 1500 and 1600 and the VW Combi T2 1700 and 2000cc. They thermally insulate the carburetor body from the heat of the manifold, preventing the vaporlock effect during hot starts caused by fuel boiling in the carburetor bowl.

Original SOLEX 32 34 PDSIT carburetor assemblies:

  • VW Type 3 1500 and 1600cc (1961-1973)
  • VW Transporter/Bus T2 1700/2000 (1971-1979)
