The main function is to allow air to pass through while effectively blocking rainwater.

In racing conditions, particularly in wet weather, roof hatches are often closed to prevent water infiltration, which eliminates any natural ventilation of the cabin. This lack of air circulation can cause the interior temperature to rise rapidly, affecting the comfort and concentration of the driver and co-driver.

The StopPluie system addresses this issue by ensuring a physical separation between the incoming airflow and the water. Thanks to an optimized design (grid shape, inclination, and orientation of the openings), it is able to maintain sufficient airflow while significantly reducing water ingress, even in heavy rain.

This device is only used when the vehicle is moving, as dynamic air pressure is necessary to ensure effective ventilation. It does not replace a forced ventilation system but offers an attractive compromise between thermal comfort and water protection.
